Job Description:

The Program Coordinator will oversee the operations of our small charity in Livingstone, focusing on organizing activities, fundraising, animal welfare, and community engagement. This role requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work effectively with diverse backgrounds and cultures while maintaining accuracy and control.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the donkey sanctuary and harness workshop.
  • Manage operational and field staff, setting weekly/monthly program schedules.
  • Maintain records and contribute to monthly reports.
  • Improve monitoring and evaluation tools for internal follow-up programs and update donors.
  • Uphold animal welfare laws and protocols, liaising with veterinarians, government officials, and traditional leadership.
  • Support and collaborate with field staff under the Forest Regeneration Partnership program.
  • Coordinate with field schedules to ensure animal welfare standards are maintained.
  • Act as a point of contact and provide support for community members and donkey owners.
  • Lead the development of the new Visitor and Education Centre at Maramba Farm.
  • Coordinate events, workshops, tours, and educational programs at the center.
  • Maintain and update the website and online shop.
  • Coordinate fundraising activities, such as the annual Easter Online Auction.
  • Other duties as required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Tonga, and Toka Leya.
  • Relevant qualification in agriculture or veterinary sciences.
  • Experience in animal husbandry or farm management, with strong knowledge of draught animals.
  • Experience with fieldwork and engaging stakeholders at the community level.
  • Skills in data entry, monitoring and evaluation, and report writing.
  • Supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Fundraising experience.
  • Self-motivated and organized.
  • Valid driving license and motorbike license.

Salary: k8,000 gross
