What you’ll do

Role Purpose:

  • Execute the Lending product portfolio as per the aligned strategy.
  • Execute and manage Lending products roadmap.
  • Stakeholder engagements, Business intelligence, and Product Compliance.
  • Develop and execute a nursery plan to maintain a healthy subscriber base following the company roadmap.

Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership:

  • Develop, execute, and manage the implementation of the lending product adoption strategy, including creating a tentative business case and ensuring objectives are met.
  • Drive day-to-day product initiatives aligned with the strategy, engaging customers through BTL, ATL, and digital campaigns for lending products.
  • Innovate new lending products to fit market needs and drive M-Pesa ambitions in the digital lending space.
  • Develop a strong customer relationship strategy, designing and deploying initiatives for customer and product revenue line growth.
  • Develop, engage, and execute new strategic partnerships with financial institutions and other stakeholders related to lending products and services.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Growth of services/product uptake by an agreed percentage.
  • Accurate and timely delivery & execution of action plans, initiatives, and new products.
  • Growth of lending portfolio as per aligned KPIs, including both disbursements and revenue.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Solid influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of local markets and customer needs.
  • Excellent analytical and logical reasoning skills based on consumer insights.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to anticipate customer, competitor, and market dynamics.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo.

Must-Have Technical/Professional Qualifications:

  • 2 years or more experience working in digital lending, mobile money, or banking/financial services, preferably with experience in digital financial products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Financial Technology, or related fields. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills, conceptual thinking, problem-solving ability, and strong business acumen.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the value chain.
  • Strong knowledge of mobile money, fintech, and financial services, preferably digital lending.
  • Project management knowledge and experience would be advantageous.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledgeable with MsSQL and Database is a key advantage.
