Job Description: The Ministry of Agriculture is recruiting for four positions of Agricultural Engineer II specializing in Irrigation. The incumbents will be responsible for identifying irrigation potential areas, conducting feasibility studies, and promoting the use of water-saving irrigation technologies. Responsibilities:

1. Identify irrigation potential areas in collaboration with Local Government Authorities.
2. Prepare irrigation project feasibility studies, detailed designs, and tender documents.
3. Undertake data collection for the irrigation data bank.
4. Prepare design and plans for the utilization of groundwater and rainwater resources for irrigation purposes.
5. Promote the use of water-saving irrigation technologies and renewable energies for irrigation and drainage purposes.
6. Promote climate-smart agriculture in irrigation and drainage.
7. Undertake adaptive and applied research on various irrigation and drainage issues.
8. Perform any other official duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and Irrigation Engineering, or Irrigation Engineering from an Institution/University recognized by the Government.
